Painting Tins for Holiday Packaging

I spotted these adorable four inch tins filled with rum cakes while we were in the Bahamas this summer. They were a crazy expensive price, as all things are in the Bahamas, but I couldn't resist taking them home with me. After we got home, the rum cakes didn't last very long (they were quite delicious) but I had an ulterior motive for these tins.

I used Krylon Banner Red paint to turn them into holiday packaging.

I decorated them with bits and pieces of recycled trims. I keep any kind of ribbon or package decoration that comes my way.

You sure turned the cans into beautiful gift tins. Hard to believe that it's time to start even thinking about Christmas.

  3. How cute -- I love the one with the checked ribbon! I doubt that the rum cakes would last very long around here either! Yum!

  17. How great to have these prepared ahead of time! Sadly, my plan to do a craft for Christmas each month fell by the wayside somewhere around May...you have been great about keeping up with this!
