Indiana Antique Guide: Kirklin, Indiana

Dan took me to Kirklin, Indiana so I could cross more pages off in my Indiana Antique Guide for my 2014 Passport to Pleasure adventure. Since this old Chevy truck was the first thing we saw when we arrived in Kirklin, I knew it would be a fun and interesting visit!

There isn't much to the Kirklin town square, but what is there is fine with me: many really good antique shops! We thought we would eat there and Dan was really hungry. The restaurant at which we planned on eating was closed and the pizza shop was closed that day also. So Dan got a diet pepsi to tide him over while I browsed the shops.

Sit back and relax and I'll show you what I found there.

We started at the White River Mercantile. Loved it. There were so many neat things both old and new.

While there I learned that the White River Mercantile has 4 booth spaces in the Logan Village Mall in Noblesville, Indiana, where I have my Patty's Pretty Things for sale.

I took this photo just in case anyone needs a refresher...

I always love seeing vintage apothecary containers.

And I had a blast going through these buttons. This is so unusual to be able to pick what you want and fill a cup full for $2 - yes, two dollars.

Then we headed on over to the White Lion.

Seeing patriotic things in antique shops makes me smile.

I saw a doll house exactly like mine in the back in very bad condition. I felt a bit sad seeing it that way but I know it must mean that it was well loved.

Next to the White Lion is Three Stray Cats. This is a really fun retro shop and I saw many things from my childhood home there.

I had a record player like this and I had forgotten about these praying kids wallhangings that we had too.

Isn't seeing this old Zenith TV and record cart enough inspiration to visit Kirklin? Oh my, the memories...

We walked up to Madison Street and there were more shops.

What else can you find in Kirklin? You can find poodles...

and cows...

and owls.

This is what I brought home with me from my Passport to Pleasure adventure to Kirklin, Indiana.

If you're in the antiquing mood, be sure to visit Kirklin! You won't be disappointed!

  5. I have that exact chopper holder except I have the pair - the grandma and grandpa chopper holders! They are special because they belonged to my grandparents and they kept their teeth in them - thank goodness I didn't inherit those too! Sorry Dan didn't get to eat - you must have gone on a Monday. It seems like a lot of places in small towns close up shop on Mondays!
