My Happy List: Being Creative, Healthy & a Recipe

I was excited to deliver my first custom Patty's Pretty Things order: 3 personalized banners for college students' dorms.

After that I was asked to make a Mr. & Mrs. banner for an outdoor rustic wedding.

I've enjoyed making these journals out of scrapbooking cardstock to not only write in, but to glue, stamp, staple - whatever. They are simple to make: Just cut a 12 x 12 inch piece of cardstock into 4 pieces of 6 x 6 inches, cut holes, add round binder rings and finish them off with a pretty ribbon. Extra pages can be added to these types of journals. I will be selling them at Art Squared on September 20 in Fountain Square, downtown Indianapolis.

I finally rode my bike at a local park after having the desire to do it all summer long! It was heavenly...

and Kimber at The Beauty Bar cut my hair. I like how she cut my bangs.

Dan and I have eaten some favorite foods lately: El Rodeo mexican food and my homemade skillet spaghetti.

This easy skillet spaghetti recipe is a family favorite. If you're interested, here's the recipe:

Spaghetti
1 lb ground beef
3 tsp chili powder
1 1⁄2 tsp dried oregano, crushed

1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1—6 oz can tomato paste
3 cups tomato juice
3 cups water
2 Tbsp instant minced onion

1—7 oz pkg uncooked spaghetti
grated parmesan cheese

In 12-inch skillet, brown ground beef; drain off excess fat. Stir in chili powder, oregano, sugar, and salt. Blend in tomato paste. Stir in tomato juice, water and onion. Bring to boiling. Carefully add spaghetti; stir to separate strands. Cover and simmer, stirring frequently, for 30 minutes. Serve with grated parmesan cheese and Italian bread. Makes 4-6 servings.

What's on your happy list this week?

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I have not made homemade spaghetti in some time. I need to make a large batch of sauce and freeze.
