I'm Happiest When...

Here's a different take on my monthly happy list. The other day I had thought about the fact that I'm happiest when I'm working in my art studio. My creative spirit flows and gives me a sense of satisfaction. I am constantly working on new products for my Etsy shop and adding them keeps the shop fresh and interesting. Corresponding with Etsy customers from all around the world is so much fun! And these days it's easy to communicate, sending pictures of custom projects as they come to fruition so I can get feedback. That way I can make sure I am sending exactly what my customer is looking for. I had a neat exchange with a lady who wanted summer words cut out for her scrapbooking project.

Then I realized that there are many other times that I'm happiest when...

I'm happiest when I'm on a road trip with Dan. We go on little trips, one or two nighters, quite often. I'd rather do that than take a week or two someplace. That's because I am a homebody and I like my usual routine. I know that I'm retired and I shouldn't be thinking of routines, but you can't teach a Type A new tricks this late in her life! LOL

I'm happiest when I take my yoga classes (I just started up again). I found that I had gotten weak and depressed sitting around and not really being active. I was having a difficult time keeping up with cleaning around the house. It's amazing what just two yoga classes have done for me. Maybe it will inspire me to even get some weight off! I can supplement my yoga classes at home with Rodney Yee's: AM and PM Yoga. I have used this video for years and it's the one I always go to because it's short and practical.

Because of the yoga classes, I'm happiest when I deep clean my bedroom and closet. When I clean out my closet, I wipe everything down, even get the dust that has gathered on top of the metal rods. I realized that when I clean out my closet, I find clothes that I haven't worn in a long time, and then I wear them!

I'm happiest when I meet my friend Rosie for dinner at McAlisters. It's always fun to catch up with her as we've known each other for almost 20 years. Also, our daughters are the same age, so it's great to have a friend experiencing the same things as me with my daughter. Recently, Rose took this photo of me and I entered it on the McAlisters website and won a gift card!

What a goof ball! I can never pass up a photo opportunity!

I'm happiest when I put good photos to work. Thanks to Shutterfly, now I can carry a picture of my grand dog with me wherever I go.

my favorite photo of my grand dog, Tangerine

I realize that I could go on and on...I have much to be happy about. Do you? How would you complete the sentence "I'm Happiest When...?"

  4. So very nice things which make me happiest as well. Art studio...always, yoga...daily, friends, family, keeping in touch, clean room, clean closet...absolutely. Well done Patty. Right now in E I'm loving the Thames here in Oxfordshire, Blenheim almost next door, history, meadows and wild flowers, gardens and my little Cotswold stone village. Life is good.
