August Happy List

August has been a fun month, I think...I saw the dentist and had my annual physical. Well, the happy thing about that is that I'm good for 6 months before I have to do it all over again, right?!

Anyway, we took what is becoming our monthly trip to French Lick in Southern Indiana. It is so beautiful there and it makes Dan and me happy when we visit.

We took a nice long walk on a lovely sunny morning. And in the evening we sat and gazed at the dome in the West Baden Hotel where we stayed, and spun some wheels in the casino.

Moving along to earlier in the month, another happy thing we did was to see Boz Scaggs in concert. I became a huge fan again last year when we happened to see him in concert. Both Dan and I were so blown away by his music that we decided to see him again. He's an amazing man and musician. At the age of 70, he has continued to write music and recently recorded two new albums that we think are great!

It was our first time to enjoy the Palladium concert hall at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana. We think of it as being a new place, but they are already in their 5th season! I took this photo before the concert while people were being seated. Isn't it lovely? Boz commented that he was impressed with the acoustics there.

And finally, I have done some custom work which makes me happy and fulfilled. A friend of mine asked me to design welcoming office door signs for her company's move to their new location. Since everything was freshly painted, they didn't want anything stuck to the doors, so we used Baker's twine and taped them to the top of the doors.

Another friend's daughter is getting married. I made a banner, some LOVE confetti in her colors of pink and blue, and cut "Here Comes the Bride" from vinyl for the sign that a child will carry down the aisle.

A sweet Etsy customer asked me to personalize sheriff badges for her child's Toy Story birthday party. Aren't the party favors adorable?

Well, as August is just about over, I'll be compiling a new list for September! How about you? Was your August good also?

  11. Patty, I love that hotel . I have been there once on a bus trip from Lafayette. I am thrilled the hotel was saved. It was a hot humid day and the smell of the sulfer was over powering to me at times. I want to go to the Palladium one of these days. Blessings, been missing your blog....now it's on my favorites. xoxo,Susie
