Hello friends. I want to let you know how much you help motivate me to do things. Your blog posts inspire me to no end and I thank you for that.
One of my goals this summer is to clean the house so I got started the other day in the kitchen. I emptied all the cabinets and shelves and put everything in the great room. Dan says I am a kamikaze cleaner. He waited patiently, stepping over things for the three days it took me to get everything back in its place (I took my time and actually enjoyed it).
So here is proof to myself that I did what I just said.
I wiped out all the cabinets and washed down the walls, blinds, windows and light fixtures. It was like moving into a new home!
I even cleaned out the refrigerator and threw out all the expired and moldy food. LOL
I rearranged some things and found different uses for them, like this red bowl that was sitting on a plate stand is now on the table holding fruit.
Also, I pulled this wire basket from a shelf for flowers to sit here.
We have these little demitasse glasses I found while cleaning my dad's home after he died. Dan and I discussed ways we could use them, such as for a chocolate mousse dessert.
And I had forgotten about these bride and groom glasses from our wedding.
I polished the few silver pieces we have to make them nice and shiny.
As I was working, I took a mental inventory of what we have and what we need. I decided we could use a new hand mixer, a pretty red one.
And I want to find some faux lemons for this glass jar.
I reorganized some of the cabinets. I put red pieces together. My family will have to search a little now.
We talked about eating in the dining room more often. We used it for dinner one night when we couldn't eat in the kitchen.
My friendly watchdog on the window is still mad about having the dust removed from his back!
So I finished up today while Dan golfed.
He came home to a nice, clean kitchen, where he can now sit down for a meal once again.
I don't want anyone to cook for awhile! I think you might know what I mean!
What a blessing it is to have such a pretty kitchen. I am truly grateful.
What's a kitchen without roosters!
Time to put my feet up and have some iced tea!
Are you working on a cleaning project? Tell me what you are doing so you can inspire me some more! I am on a roll now and want to keep going!
Gorgeous kitchen. Everything looks amazing and wow, you really were ambitious. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteNow THIS is spring cleaning! I'm so impressed. All your lovely things just sparkle! I'm visiting from BNOTP! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat's more than cleaning - holy cow I need to have a drink of your water to inspire me to do a whole kitchen clean like that. We have/had the same bride and groom glasses, all they made back all those years ago, but I think most of the lettering came off and last time I purged the cabinet I got rid of them. Now I feel bad, I better go look.
