So, it was my turn to try out the Krylon Looking Glass spray paint. I had been pinning ideas about it from the internet for quite some time.
I've had these two large glass pieces tucked away in a cabinet. Since I wasn't doing anything with them I thought they might be useful in my experimentation with this paint. I thought I could maybe use the finished projects in with my Christmas decor.
I sprayed inside the pieces with the paint, which was very much a liquid, and rolled the liquid around and let it dry a little. Then I sprayed with half water/half vinegar solution and used a paper towel to blot the droplets from the water/vinegar solution, like my blogger friends suggested. I found that the blotting with the paper towel took too much of the paint off with it (maybe I didn't wait long enough for the paint to dry). So I gave another round of paint and water/vinegar.
Here's a little glass container I experimented with first. I put a flameless candle in it.
It's another craft I had been wanting to try. We'll see what I do with these pieces.

ReplyDeletePatty, your mercury glass pieces look just fabulous! Really, as good as any I've seen any of the stores, I think. Great job! I've read the Looking Glass paint can be found at Walmart, but I haven't yet been able to find it there or anywhere else so far. I'm going to keep looking and I hope to try this out soon.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Krylon had this paint, and it may not be available in Canada but a neat way to repurpose things. Your projects turned out well.
ReplyDeleteThis looks GREAT! Boy, what a little paint will do! Have a wonderful and blessed week~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteReally lovely, Patty! You've inspired me to try it on some glass vases I picked up for 25 cents at a thrift store. I figure I haven't lost much that way if I ruin it!
