Ashleigh needed a place to work on her art, so while she was away, her roommates cleaned up the basement. She came home to a sparkling clean room that had a nice fresh smell. It is just an adorable little space and perfect for her. She was absolutely delighted!
We were on our way to lunch. That's why she has her purse on her shoulder. |
She lives in a cute village. When I visit her, we walk to lunch and shop along the way. Everything she needs is within walking distance, even a small farmers market. I love to visit her and see what she is up to. She inspires me. It's fun having a daughter who loves to create like me.
Here she is spreading rubber cement onto a board so she can apply a Beatles puzzle for hanging.
Her easel awaits her masterpiece inspirations.
She took figure drawing classes in college and specializes in charcoal drawings of people. She loved her ceramic classes from her college days too.
I'm so happy for Ashleigh. Things are really coming together for her. It's difficult for an artist to make a living, but she is making all kinds of connections to pursue her dream.
Do you have someone in your life who offers inspiration and shares in your creativity?

I think I know where her genes come from!!! Love the space now but I'm sure it will even be more so with more art coming from Ashleigh!!!! She is truly talented. does she sell on etsy by any chance?
ReplyDeleteI loved this peek into your daughter's artist's space. It's fascinating for someone like me who is kind of on the outside looking in when it comes to art. (I have very, very little artistic ability.) I think it's great that Ashleigh is not only making headway in following her dream, but is trying to follow it. I've met people who put their artistic dreams on the back burner because it just didn't seem "realistic" to try to make them come true. I think that's sad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely daughter! I'm so glad that she has her own space where she now lives so that she can go and jot down her ideas. Both my daughters are very artistic. The older one has just become a silversmith and has her own hallmark. The younger is an artist and Los makes all sorts of things. Both are blessings. I enjoy them so much as I m sure you do too! Joan
ReplyDeleteAshleigh is inspiring and I love that last collage featuring her work. I wold love to take a charcoal class! I really need to do some painting this week and get caught-up!

ReplyDeleteOh, Patty.... it makes my heart go pitty-pat to hear the love and support you give your daughter! I know how much she's added to your life by the way you describe your visits with her.. so very sweet and heartfelt! And lucky daughter to have you for her mom. Someone who supports her dreams in any and all ways possible. Great post!
ReplyDeleteYou and your daughter are much alike - creative and talented at your chosen craft. Ashleigh is going to succeed, I have no doubt.

I'm so happy your daughter now has a space of her own to be creative! She very lucky to have your support and encouragement.
ReplyDeleteShe is very talented, and I am so glad she is pursuing her dream! She has a nice studio too!
ReplyDeleteI agree what a great space for her. She is very talented. My favorite medium was charcoal drawing. I love her ladies face on the wall and the one near the floor is great too!
ReplyDeleteLove Ashleigh's space and the wedding photos.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and son (because he lives close) both encourage me with my art. When my daughter is near, she encourages also.
Wow! She is very talented and I know she enjoys a nice space to work. I have a lot of artists in my family. I'm always inspired by beautiful art. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, NO... I hardly know ANYBODY that loves art, crafting, or crocheting at ALL! I have ONE friend who likes to quilt, and one who occasionally likes to make cards. That's IT!... So that's why I LOVE Blogland so much! And I'm absolutely having a blast seeing everybody's craftrooms and studios! So happy to hear your very talented daughter loved her new studio, and hope you both are enjoying your weekend! ~tina
ReplyDeleteI love it when my daughter is in my studio and works away and making a great mess (we're both very messy when we paint), so I can totally relate to your post and I see the joy in your daughters smile and the joy in your writing this post. Great space!!
ReplyDeleteShe's very talented so I wish all the best in her artistic adventures : )
And many, many never ending happy moments creating together and making memories.
How wonderful that Ashleigh is pursuing her dreams and has such a great place to work from! I love hearing about young artists and hope that she is very successful! Thank you so much for joining WBC this year and letting us peak inside her world. :)
