I Went Junkin'

I met a wonderful new friend who invited me to join her at a flea market. I've been to antique stores, garage sales and to an auction but not to a flea market before. I wondered what I could find for $20. I'll show you what I found in my flea market search.

This old bottle and pearl bracelet. The pearls are hand tied and the clasp is silver. It's in beautiful condition and loose on my wrist which is how I like bracelets to fit me. The bottle was $3 and the bracelet was $8.

Two bags of buttons at $2 per bag. One had a baby card in it. Just love it.

Do you see the rose button? It's my favorite.

Two BINGO cards at a quarter each.

And hankies. The bottom three were from a booth that wanted to get rid of them so I got them 3/$1. The top one I got for a dollar. Do you see the "P" on the second one down from the top? What was the chance of finding a P in basketful of hankies? I think it was meant for me. Notice the sweet lace on the top one?

Total cost was $17.50 so I was pretty happy with my flea market spending spree. It was a very enjoyable morning. There was excitement in the cool air. And I now have a junkin' friend!

Do you enjoy going to flea markets?

  2. I love handkerchiefs!! You found some beautiful ones, and I do think the "P" was meant to be. The baby card warmed my heart, and the BINGO cards are a great score. Wonder where you'll place them...

I could've spent all day there.

    XOXO,

  6. We have a flea market that comes to town twice a year, but the prices are a bit higher. I would love to go more often, but I don't really like to go out of town on the weekends because the drive back is so long. There are too many people and cars in southern California.

I LOVE your hankies and the buttons.

  8. We have a huge flea market near us that is open weekends and I love to stroll through it. There's also an antique barn attached to the same building.
$8 for a hand-tied pearl bracelet is a steal and I love the assortment of handkerchiefs you found. I've get to find one with my initial, although I've seen 'Grandma' embroidered on a few.

  11. You did very well, my friend. I went to a few antique and thrift stores with a sorority sister about a month or so ago and had a blast!
