I treated myself to a veggie pizza home delivery while Dan was out of town on a business trip. It fed me all week! Yea, so delicious and no cooking...
While Big Dan was out of town for business, our son Danny was in town for business and Ashleigh and I had dinner with him. We celebrated his 30th birthday, yes, at a pizza restaurant. Lots of pizza for me lately, but that's ok! Ash made a charcoal drawing of his little son, Jax, for him. He was ecstatic. It was so much fun having my babies all to myself for a few hours.
Here's the drawing up close.
Jackson, Jax, Jackman, Jackbo...lots of names for this little fella...he sure has made our family very happy! |
Here are some things about other bloggers that make me happy.
Artist Stephanie of Queen of Dreamsz makes very fun doodles. Here are some in pretty pinks:
Roxi of Creating Beyond the Layers has posted many stunning sunflower photos on her blog. All of her photos are amazing and a delight to see.
I am drooling over this black painted furniture from Lila's Pockets. Taking an Annie Sloan painting class is on my bucket list. I have many pieces of furniture I could bring back to life with black paint. Hopefully, this fall, I can get to it.
Here's an old Habersham piece I'd love to tackle. Do you think it would look good in black or white? I am struggling between the two.
And finally, I received a very special treat in the mail from a fellow blogger, bj of Sweet Nothings. She hosted a giveaway of her favorite Texas Ginger Snaps and I was one of the lucky winners. I couldn't believe it when they arrived. Here's the pretty box I received and it was heavy.
See how pretty it goes with my kitchen colors?
There was more than cookies in the box!
Lot's of presents!
Not only the Snaps, but also a sweet fragrant sachet, Werther's Originals, a rooster mug filled with cocoa and tea packets and polka dot straws! It tickled me so...the thoughtfulness of a blogger. Thank you, bj, from the bottom of my heart.
Happy, happy, happy - a great way to feel and be! Congrats on your giveaway win. BJ is an amazingly sweet woman. I'm not surprised that she slipped in a lot of extra goodies. I love the drawing of Jax! What a talent!
ReplyDeleteI think it is every Mama's dream, to have her grown kids to herself for a time. No spouses....no kids...just our children. Wonderful! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the charcoal of the baby. What a special gift to have and love forever!
ReplyDeleteLove the gift from BJ! So nice!!!
xo Kris
Love the drawing of Jax! He is just so precious and what talent to capture that innocence. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have lots of reasons to be happy! While The Great Dane is away this week I have been eating a rotisserie chicken - yum! - that I treated myself to. No cooking for me either. Lucky you to win BJ's giveaway - we have that in common, as I was a lucky winner on her blog once too! She is a very sweet blogger!
ReplyDeleteAs for the dresser - black, yes, definitely black.
I need to start linking with the Happy List party.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun package to receive- so many fun things.

ReplyDeleteBelated happy birthday to your son and oh my, tell That charcoal drawing almost looks like a photograph!!! Just amazing! Tell Ashleigh that too!
Congratulations on winning - What a nice gift!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an enjoyable visit with your son and daughter. The pizza looks yummy! Your talented daughter did a great job on the charcoal.
Enjoy your evening.
Patty- I think this is my Happy post -seeing all the things that make YOU happy. Love that Habersham piece. I'd say white or black-either way it will look great.
ReplyDeleteWhite to me is a more romantic look-shabby chic. Black is more of a traditional classic look (in my opinion). Have a great night- xo Diana
