Carol's Journaling Book

I had so much fun making a journaling book for Carol of Art and Sand when we swapped our favorite colors. Her color was red. These croquet balls came from a picture on her blog. I used Mod Podge for the first time on a journal cover and back and really liked its protective effect.

The Graphics Fairy was my friend here. On the left is Carol's poodle Lulu I downloaded from her blog too, and on the right is a vintage index page from GF.

All the images on down are from GF. I cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo.

Happy Journaling!

  1. I was gonna ask you about the binding! I bought a notebook made from vintage books that I adore, it had the hard bound cover of course and some of the pages along with blank pages inside which I love, would love to make my own someday. how much is the Cinch binding tool Patty, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks, its a lovely notebook and would make a lovely gift too!

  2. Hi Patty,

I love this journal...I know Carol really loves it too!

You are REALLY making me want the Silhouette Cameo! I love the way you can add the margin around the design and so much more. Is the software pretty easy to learn? I'm pretty good with editing software but have not ever used a software like this.

Drop by for a visit when you have a moment.

    Hugs,
    Steph ♥

  4. This is really cool...I remember making something similar years ago in our local Rubber Stamping Club. I sent a friend a note (using one of your note cards you made) and she called to ask how I knew it was her favorite Vera B pattern....that was luck, huh??

  5. I L O V E my journal and I had no idea there were so many other little tidbits in the envelopes.

I enjoy making books, but I have never made a spiral bound book like this. Oh, I have so much to learn about bookmaking.

  8. The journal is so pretty, and the Graphics Fairy has been an inspiration for many of us. Now I have to look up 'Silhouette Cameo' and 'Cinch Book Binding Tool'. New toys I might want?
