Ok, so I wasn't finished with creating my Halloween decor (retirement is the greatest!) yet. When we stayed at the West Baden Springs Hotel last weekend, I saw this framed eye in the hotel gift shop. When you moved it back and forth, the eye went with you...kind of creepy.
Anyway, it reminded me of this vintage image from The Graphics Fairy blog which was on my Pinterest things I want to make board.

While out shopping this week, I found a round frame and put it together like so.
Does the spooky woman behind it look familiar? She is all over the Internet for Halloween fun. I downloaded her from GF and framed her too. Thank you GF for the images!

I played with PicMonkey which was oh, so much fun! She really needed a witches hat!
Then I added a spider web and a crow.
I'm tickled to death with the skull I found at Walmart for a few bucks. I'm constantly changing things around the house - I think many of you can relate to that. :) I think I would do well in a retail gift shop because of that. Rearranging would need to be done as things would sell.
I also like this other woman and played with putting her in the round frame too - she's from GF.
I actually think I like her better due to the color she brings.
I've never had a skull before haha.
Here's another thing I did. I was so crazy about this owl that I cut several out in various sizes with my Silhouette Cameo.
I was thinking of making a table runner or banner for the mantle out of them. They will sit on the dining room table until I figure it out.
Moving right along, I have ceramic pumpkins in the foyer, waiting to greet guests. I put battery operated flickering lights inside them.
Their sweet faces remind me of my little grandson. He's so sweet and I am going through withdrawal right now as he was with us all last week. Oh, what a time we had.
Oh, look who's joining them. It's Halloween Barbie. I'm afraid that when my Coach Barbie arrived, she stirred up something in me. Now I'm collecting Barbie dolls. The Barbie Collector website is my new friend. The memories Barbie dolls bring are just too wonderful for me. I don't know what happened to my childhood Barbie dolls! I also think having a grandson is making me want to play with toys LOL!
Have you checked out Broomsticks on the Bayou yet? It's going on right now. It caught my attention because we lived in Ruston, Louisiana for a spell and got to experience New Orleans while there.
Marfi of Incipient Wings wrote about palm reading which made me remember that my Muffy Vanderbear has a fortune teller gig.
The details of this get up are amazing! Muffy has an aladdin lamp, crystal ball and tarot psychic reading cards along with a magic carpet!
Yes, I'm a collector. Muffy has many outfits that are all individually packaged in large ziplock baggies. I see bits and pieces of Muffy things at estate sales and it makes me sad to think that so much time has gone by. I remember collecting these things like it was yesterday.
I have a crystal ball on a shelf in the great room. We found it in my stepdad's workshop after he died! Frank was such a sweetheart and I am glad to have something that was his.
I hope you are enjoying this time of the year as much as I am. I wonder if I will create more stuff before October 31st. I don't want it to arrive, do you?

I wish you lived near me--I would ask you to come decorate my house! I love all of this. That framed eyeball is rather eerie. :-) I would love to collect Barbies. But I would play with them instead of setting them up for display. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat spooky vignettes! I love all the Halloween attention to detail, even the old lady pic! Enjoy your new week.
