I am joining Ricki Treleaven's weekly My Happy List.
I received a free book in the mail! Claudia of Mockingbird Hill Cottage gives book reviews and is sometimes able to give copies of the book she reviews to lucky readers. I was one of her lucky readers and received this book The Last Camellia. I am excited to read it on my upcoming trip to Florida. Claudia is a great writer and always comes up with the neatest things to blog about. She also takes fantastic pictures. Thank you, Claudia!
A NEW HOBBY LOBBY OPENED UP RIGHT BEHIND MY HOUSE so now I don't have to drive a half an hour to get to one. That could be good and bad. Ashleigh and I couldn't wait to check it out. We went up and down every aisle and saw things we may never have noticed before such as this oval shaped slice of tree trunk. This is what Ash did with it.
I've mentioned before how much I love the Indianapolis International Airport in this post. This is the restaurant where we eat every time I pick Dan up from the airport.
It's called the Indy 500 Grill. Since Dan is usually returning from international dining, he always enjoys traditional American food of chili, burger and fries. I have the buffalo chicken salad and oh, it's so delicious!
I love the decor, from the tables
to the art on the walls
to the memorabilia.
There's a race car hanging in the bar! The bartender stepped aside as if he does it all the time. I imagine I'm not the first person to take a picture of the car.
And there's a scoreboard too.
That's it for today. I'm taking my book, passing by the Indy 500 Grill and headin' to Florida soon! I imagine there will plenty of happy things to share next time!
Have you made a happy list lately?

I am very jealous you have a Hobby Lobby close to you! I don't understand why we don't have more here since there is a Michaels every few miles. Have a great day :-)
ReplyDeleteA Happy List - I'll have to think about it, as there would be lots. Hobby Lobby - none up here, but it's one of the first places I go when I head south of the border. One memorable weekend I saved Hobby Lobby for my last day in WA only to find out (at the door) that it was closed on Sundays. Now I go STRAIGHT to Hobby Lobby before anywhere else!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a Hobby Lobby. The closest one is a 4 hour drive without traffic.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading and have a great time!!!

Hobby Lobby behind my house? My husband would probably have a heart attack if that happened, because I have been known to spend hours in our H.B. Store. It is probably a good thing that it is all the way across town from my house. How great that you were fortunate enough to get the new read! The restaurant looks like a fun place to eat with all the racing things to see, especially the race car! We will be heading down to Florida in a few weeks to WDW for the Food and Wine Festival. We are really looking forward to getting away for a bit.Travel safely and I hope you will have a great time on your trip!
ReplyDeleteO, what a cool place to eat...Hobby Lobby makes ME happy, too. :)
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo for winning a copy of her book. I love Hobby Lobby! The Airport's restaurant is adorable! Great Happy List Patty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat restaurant! Can you believe I've never been in a Hobby Lobby? The closest one is about an hour away. Are they better than other craft stores?
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Florida!!
Dear Patty, my happy list would in include the lovely package of cards I received from you! I love them and am so happy to have received them. Thank you so much! Have a great trip. Tammy
ReplyDelete:D The Indy 500 Grill looks like so much fun....I love how it's decorated! SO cute. I love Sarah Jio's books, and I haven't read this one yet, and I didn't even know that it's out yet! :O
ReplyDeleteBTW Ashleigh is a genius. :D
Thanks for linking-up!

The book sounds interesting - I hope you like it Patty and look forward to your review sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteI love airports - mainly because that's my way of getting to see my daughter in France!
On the weekends we often go out to International and watch the big planes taking off - my friends think I'm mad!! LOL
Oh I would love to walk through a Hobby Lobby store - we don't have them in New Zealand but they seem to have everything and at such great prices - lucky YOU Patty!
Love and hugs
Shane
Be careful of that Hobby Lobby. I have one 5 minutes from my house and it's very addicting!
