Pinterest Procrastinations: The Birds

I don't know why I have such a hangup about painting. I took a class back in November, purchased the chalk paint, brush, wax, etc. and it had sat on a table in the basement for a couple months. Well, I finally forced myself to paint some things and I could not believe how relaxing it was for me. I actually enjoyed it. The painting 101 class I took with Vintage Whimsy helped give me the confidence to do it. I painted this wooden frame I wrote about in this post with Maison Blanche Vanille and used their light brown wax to protect it.

Many thanks to The Graphics Fairy for the bird image. I cut it out with the Silhouette Cameo.

This was my inspiration, a photo I took at an event I attended and wrote about here

It happens to be the picture on my Pinterest Procrastinations button for this series. I knew that if I used this picture, I would have to complete the project and it worked!

I painted several other things at the same time and will share them later.

  1. That turned out well, it's very pretty.

  4. Hi Patty. I love how the frame turned out, and love the birds too! I still haven't used chalk paint, but am itching to do it. Was this chalk paint?
Also...that pretty jewelry from previous post. LOVE it!!!! What a lucky find! So nice! And thank you too, my friend, for the lovely words on my blog!

Also, I see you're going to Kim's Downtown Abbey Affaire. YOU WILL LOVE IT! I can't go this time because we're remodeling our kitchen but, my friend Cindy Craine will be there & she's so much fun! Be sure to meet her. ENJOY!

  7. I love the birds! They would be pretty on sheet music, too...wouldn't they? Enjoy your fun projects! You are inspiring me my friend! Hugs!
