There is a great halfway stop from our home to Chicago. It is the Fair Oaks Farms. I had been hearing about it for a long time from Dan who raved about the double chocolate milk shakes they serve there.
Fair Oaks Farms is a great place for kids of all ages to visit. According to their website, Fair Oaks Farms is an escape to the country with acres of great outdoor fun, food and learning where you can explore family farms and reconnect with nature, animals and our planet.
While we were there we saw groups of students on field trips.
Cows are everywhere...
We stopped on our way to Chicago and back. And yes, we got our milkshakes (both times). Dan has good taste and I can see why he raved about them for so long. They were worth the extra time on the treadmill machine.
Have you heard about this fun and educational place?
I think I may be requesting additional trips to Chicago.

Patty, That sounds like a fun time. Once on a trip to Maine we stopped off in Vermont at Ben and Jerry's ...yum Ice cream. Those shakes Dan is pointing to, sure look good. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many times we passed that place while driving to and from NW Indiana to visit family and friends! And I always commented on how much I'd like to visit. Well, maybe someday. But in the meantime I'll enjoy your photos!

I've never traveled in that part of the country but it sure sounds like it's worth stopping at. We used to get amazing milkshakes at a place called Rock-ola in NC....oh my! Sounds good right now! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat an AMAZING cow mural in that first photo, Patty! And the milkshakes look fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool and fun looking place! I love all the cows and cow decor. :-) Those shakes look very good, too!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a yummy treat. Thanks for sharing your road trip stop. Dairy and I don't always get along, but a yummy strawberry shake sounds so good right now.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I've heard of it, and it sounds like a fun place to visit! Now I have a hankering for a milkshake!!!
