Dan and I have just spent 10 glorious days in Southern California. We went to help celebrate our first grandchild's first birthday and also so that I could attend Kim Caldwell's An Artistic Affair at Downton. On top of all that excitement, I got to meet a special blogging friend in person and spend an afternoon with her! Every time I go out there, I tell Dan that I want to move there. Anyway...I have several posts planned to share with you about my vacation. But until then, here is a little glimpse...

Art sculpture at the San Diego airport; our first glimpse of the ocean; we spent two nights at the Ayres Hotel; and pretty flowers we don't see back home in Indiana |
The evening before we left, I whipped up a drawstring bag out of a vintage table runner to put my Downton gifts in - in my mind it had to be vintagy pretty; Dan and me enjoying the view |
Ahh to enjoy the sunshine after a wicked Indiana winter!

I can't wait to see all the Downton treats.
ReplyDeleteHI Patty,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a wonderful trip to California. I love California too and always feel like I should be living there everytime I visit too. So happy you got to meet Carol and have a little time together. I cannot wait to see more from your trip.
Kris
Be careful what you wish out loud! It was on a freezing winter day in the east that we flew out to visit my sister on Vancouver Island, where camellias were blooming and the air was balmy. "I wish we could live here" said I..........and nine months later, here we were. Perhaps you're ready to become a California Girl!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing people say how much they enjoyed their time in our beautiful state. I love California! And, I love the San Diego area. We live less than an hour away from downtown and my husband works in North San Diego County. There are so many things to see and do and the weather is beautiful. Your drawstring bag is so pretty! I'm impressed that you made it while you were on a trip! I'll look forward to more posts about your trip. :-)
ReplyDeleteglad you had a good time, had missed your blog

ReplyDeleteI've been there, I was reminded of Sydney with simular weather and one story houses, it's a pretty place but I would imagine the summers would be hot as I was there in autumn.
ReplyDeleteMerle............

ReplyDeleteSounds like a great trip! I love California too. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip, Patty.
ReplyDeleteI bet you have many pretty things to share with us! I'm glad you had such a great time. I've never been to California. I'd love to see the Pacific Ocean and see how it's different from the Atlantic.
