"Watch Me Grow" Mixed Media Art Class & More

I've taken some interesting classes lately. At this one we completed a page in our art journal. There were so many steps to making this one page.

We brushed on Gesso, scribbled with the end of a brush in circles, used modeling paste with stencils, used white distressed paint, plus much more.

It was a really fun class. I enjoy working on mixed media projects.

It's interesting to see the various shades of pink on each of the member's journals. The "watch me grow" words were stamped with individual letters.

Here is another class I took, making this plaque with dimensional flowers in a vase of twine.

We were given the painted wooden board, hammer and nails, and a template.

We hammered nails into each of the intersecting lines and filled in the lines with equally spaced nails. You can imagine the sound of everyone hammering at the same time.

Here I am almost finished nailing...

Now it was time to add the twine.

I wound the twine around the nails. Then I removed the template with tweezers.

Time to add the flowers.

And here is the final project! This was actually the Mother's Day project at the library.

Have you created anything fun lately?
