A Walk to a Chicago Farmer's Market

Chicago is such a great city! I always love going there to visit Danny, Natasha and our little grandson. I have always lived in the suburbs so it is very exciting to have the experience of seeing what it is like to live in a big city. We walked to a Farmer's Market last Saturday morning.

There were flowers...

food to delight the senses

my handsome husband, Dan

dogs

music to serenade us

some neat candles

and interesting architecture.

Then we went to the grocery store and it was interesting to see the yellow watermelon. I don't recall seeing it in Indiana. Nonetheless, we bought the red kind we are used to and it was delicious!

I don't usually take pictures at the grocery store, but we thought the presentation of the deli foods was stunning.

Look at these adorable petit fors - Chicago, you are spoiled!

We saw gorgeous roses cupcakes

and tiny birthday cakes.

I remember eating this coffee cake as a kid.

We had a little fun while grocery shopping.

So then we walked and saw more sights.

I like this sign.

And this one.

I would like to check this out.

And this.

Such pretty architecture lines the streets.

Flowers too!

It was a lovely trip to a Chicago Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning. We brought home with us some popcorn, salsa, guacamole and three bunches of beautiful flowers, plus a couple bags of groceries.

Linking with Beautiful Sunday

  2. Hi Patty! Chicago is one of my dream destinations. I've heard so much about it, especially the marvelous architectural works. When you showed me the cupcakes and the sweets, the more I was convinced to see the place. Someday if I have the resources already, Chicago will make it on my list!

  4. Your grandson is ADORABLE!!! Alright I had to get the most important part out first. Chicago is my favorite city because of everything they have. I love the interesting architecture as well. We go every year for something and check out something new (8 years now, we only live 4-5 hours away.) My favorite spot is the Navy Pier, it holds special memories there. Farmer's Markets are always fun but to be able to walk to one and enjoy the beauty the city has to offer is another level all together. I am glad you are enjoying your time with your family.

Let me know if you tried the three twins ice cream. Our local market just recently stocked some of that brand!
