Christmas Ornaments

I want to show you how I have come up with new ornament ideas for Christmas 2013. I added to what I already have in order to create interest and save $$. I made everything to coordinate with my furniture fabrics. My colors this year are red, cream, mercury glass, silver and bronze to go along with gold already in the house.

The key is to have lots of the same ornaments, like 20-30 of the same ones. Here's my ornament plan:

1. Various cut out shapes, adorned and sprayed with bronze colored paint 2. Glittery ornaments using pieces of pages from old books 3. Painted formerly red ornaments with spray paint  4. Plastic red ornaments I already had 5. Cream wool pom poms 6. Glittery red styrofoam balls I already had 7. Kveta Pacovska baby and carriage cut out (from this post) that will perhaps be made into a garland 8. Pom poms from red shimmer yarn 9. Various sizes of jingle bells held together with florist wire that will tie in with my jingle bell wreath

Here is the full image for #7.

I am having a ball discovering what my Silhouette Cameo Electronic Cutting Tool can do. I learned how to import images from the web, print them off and cut them out. Love the nice clean edge all around the image.

I like to think I am like Pottery Barn with the baskets of ornaments at Christmastime - LOL.

I think our tree will be all about our new grandson this year.

  4. Lots of great ideas - your tree will be so pretty. Leann at The Old Parsonage observes the 25th of each month as Rudolph Day and creates/accomplishes something towards the Christmas holidays. I need some of your's and her's creativity/energy.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

  7. All such great projects, Patty. You are smart. I know, only too well, the feeling of panic you speak of. I get this feeling of self-loathing, too, because I always promise myself not to wait until the last minute to get things done.

  8. What are you going to do with the pom poms? Make a garland with them, or just hang them on the tree? I never heard about that cameo machine before--- I love that you can cut out images with it... sounds remarkable!
