Fantastic Greeting Cards

What did I do on my first week of summer break? Well, no belated spring cleaning, sad to say. Usually I am like a kamakazi cleaner right out of school, wanting to get everything spruced up for summer. But that didn't happen this time. I just wasn't up to it. Instead, I made things like these greeting cards with my Silhouette Cameo.

I have been a stamper of cards for several years. I kind of got away from it though because I enjoy creating so many other things. Also, I had a stash of probably 150 cards already made up and I wanted to use some of them before I made more.

So much for 150 cards already made up. The Silhouette blog showed me how to make shaped cards. I made cut out crowns, some with glitter paper and rhinestone stickies. The glitter paper messed up my mat though. Lesson learned, use an old mat for cutting glitter paper.

I made flower and strawberry shaped cards.

And these cut out cards are so neat. The feeling I have about this machine is kind of like how I felt when I got my smart phone: amazed for weeks.

And then there are these printed cards that can be embellished. I added pearls but I can imagine really going to town with this.

Next, I made cards using The Graphics Fairy images. I love how the machine cut around this chair.

I use my scoring tool to make my cards fold easily. You can see the line made with the tool on the right where the pink arrow is.

I also turned my favorite GF bee image into a card.

But getting back to the fan cards, they are what got me started. This is the one I downloaded from the Silhouette store.

The one on the right below is how it was made on the blog. I tried to match the paper as best I could (mine is on the left below).

I was able to make mine smaller to fit into my envelopes and plastic protectors. I like to keep my cards nice and fresh for use. Amazing, again, or may I say Fantastic!

  9. How cute are these and how lucky some people will be to receive one. Re these for your own use or do you sell them?
