A Beautiful Sunday on the Golf Course

I love it when Dan asks me to ride in the golf cart with him. Today he played 18 holes and it was so beautiful outside. It's fun to watch him do something he absolutely loves. When he's on the golf course, he's like a kid in a candy store.

I brought my iPhone, iPad and a catalogue with me but tried to pay attention to what he was doing. When he did something good, I clapped like they do on the golf channel. He liked that.

It was such a pretty and relaxing ride.

I just loved looking at the clouds. You know how they say to stop and smell the roses? Well, I spent some time reveling in the clouds.

Is he a happy golfer, or what!

I'm going to show you my favorite part of the day. We're almost there.

Swans!!

Did you read The Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White when you were a kid? I loved that book! I'll have to read it with my new little grandson some day!

We continued on...

and came back to the swans. Its neat to see the difference in the swan pictures from the ones I showed you above to an hour later and from the other side of the lake.

They were having an afternoon snack.

There's a pretty little waterfall there.

Here we were on the back nine and almost finished.

Good job, Dan!

We had a nice dinner afterwards at the clubhouse of baby bib salad and salmon.

Maybe someday I will become a golfer too. Thanks for riding along with me!

  1. Perfect day indeed! We were at the golf course too to watch my dad play with his friends!!!! It was a perfect day - cool & breezy without any rain. We capped ours off with grilled salmon too! Hahaha! We didn't see any of the gorgeous swans though Patty. Glad Dan had an equally awesome time too!

  2. That sounds like such a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon. I used to like to watch The Great Dane fishing - with my book and flask of tea, I was happy to say words of encouragement as he cast and reeled in.
One of the things I look forward to doing in retirement is meeting girlfriends for regular 'Nine and Dine' evenings. I'm as bad a golfer as I am a bridge player - it's all about the conversation and the food for me!

  3. Hi Patty! I may not know how to play golf but I always appreciate the greeneries and the quiet place. In your case, I would love to see that place too. Everything looks so tranquil and relaxing. The trees, clouds and the swans are perfect for an always tired city girl like me :)

Thank you for linking up. Hope to see you again next week

  4. I went of many surf trips with my husband, but I never once accompanied him on a golf outing. Now that I am retired, I wouldn't mind taking the time to just relax.

And those swans are so pretty!

  6. That's a pretty good golf course, great to have swans on it. I've been to our local one no swans there but a few ducks.

  8. Beautiful day and outing. My husband hasn't played gold in awhile but if I get to enjoy the scenery like you and relax in a golf cart then I'd be more than happy to push him to start playing. Thanks for the idea! Love the swans!

  11. Breathtaking pictures, Patty. The swans, the waterfall, the CLOUDS!! I was in awe. What sights to behold, and I think it's so sweet that you sat there happily cheering on your man. You know, every man wants to be cheered on and praised by his lady. You did a fantastic job. :)

    XOXO,
    Meredith
