My Happy List: Art, P-nut Butter, & Social Icons

I am so happy for Ashleigh that she got a job at a very nice art gallery/frame shop! The gallery is in an adorable little town. When I went to visit her, they were having a sidewalk sale so I had to check it out. I purchased these three prints for $12. They will be perfect in our home while they remind me of the happiness I feel for Ash finally finding a job that she loves.

The raccoons caught my eye because they have significance for Dan and me. I wrote in this post about how we had raccoons in the attic of our first home. Dan borrowed traps from the humane society and lured them out. Needless to say, they weren't very happy with him. I put this print by the front door. I thought it would be fitting as a welcome from Dan and me for the arrival of guests, especially since it says "Hello World" at the bottom of it.

I am happy that I made the effort to buy freshly ground peanut and almond butters from The Fresh Market. I am trying to lose weight so while being a peanut freak it just made sense to eat the natural kind. It's delicious on warm toast!

And lastly, I finally figured out how to make my social icons and my blog button. I had been working on these things for months. I downloaded the free icons from Angela of A Typical English Home and learned how to install them here.

I don't know what is wrong with me but I just could not get my blog button made, even after researching many tutorials including Susan's post on Between Naps on the Porch. This link makes creating a blog button really easy, but the text font isn't one I am crazy about. All you need to do is fill in your blog name and address and image URL. Susan of BNOP talks about how to keep your blog button in a post on your blog. If you keep it in Photobucket, they will charge you. You would put your button in a post and switch to HTML to get the image URL. You would name that post something like DO NOT DELETE BLOG BUTTON and never publish it. I can't thank my fellow blogger enough for their help with this. Fellow bloggers rock!

If you Google enough, it will come.

  1. That fresh peanut butter is deadly. Whenever I am trying to eat less, the one craving I have is peanut butter.

We have raccoons living in the overgrown yard behind us. They do seem to be bothered by Steve trying to chase them away. The people who live in the overgrown yard don't seem to be bothered either.

  2. That was a great deal on those prints. They're cute! The nut butters look yummy. Makes me want to run out and get some fresh ground butters. :-)

I have no idea what a social icon or blog button is. I'm feeling a bit behind when I read that as most of it goes right over my head. :-/

  4. So glad about your daughter's new job! It is soooooo important to enjoy your job. It just makes life better.

I am allergic to tree nuts, but peanut butter is one of my favorites--on bread, crackers, on a spoon . . .:-)

  6. I love the prints - you must share some taste in what we like to look at.
Now the natural peanut butter - that was cruel. I'm also trying to lose weight (am now at the 8 pound mark!) and peanut butter is one of my weaknesses. I could smell it!
As far as the button - it might as well have been Greek. I am hopeless, but would love to be a little more tech-savvy.

  7. Getting those buttons to work can be a pain at first. Or when you decide to redo them after so many years.... Ugh!

LOVE fresh, natural peanut and almond butters!
