My Happy List: Shopping Provides Ideas & More

When Dan and I were recently at an antique store in our town square, I saw these adorable vintage clothes pin dresses which brought thoughts of women hanging their clothes on the line and clothes smelling of fresh air.

I also saw this table there and it reminded me of the table Jennifer Rizzo painted for her kitchen

Jennifer's blog has amazingly great ideas.

I saw this Longaberger basket there too and it reminded me of a purse I have that I should hang on my coat rack at home instead of keeping it hidden away in a drawer.

So when I got home, I did just that. Ideas I glean from shopping make me happy.

Moving on, Marti of SEWlicious Home Decor sent me this coffee filter wreath she made. I just love it and think it will be especially great for Valentine's Day! Thanks again, Marti! Marti has all kinds of inspiring ideas for the home on her blog. Blog friends make me happy.

And finally, since I have retired from my nursing job, I have had more time to work on my blog and visit other blogs. One of the things I have been working on is my color combinations. Do you know what your blog colors convey to your readers? This page discusses color psychology and how it affects blog design. I thought it was really interesting and helpful. I also came upon this website that shows you what colors look good together and gives you the color numbers so you can put them in your blog template. It lets you download your color combinations as I have done here for mine.

I love learning new ways to improve and personalize my blog.

How about you? What is making you happy this week?

  4. Love Jennifer's blog too! Lots of fantastic ideas! It's funny how shopping trips can inspire us at times even if we don't bring home anything! My husband can't understand why I love doing that. I just finished my powder room Pattie and it's making me happy, will post it on Sunday! The color thing is interesting, will check it out! Thanks and have a great day!

  5. Color psychology is interesting. I read what it said about purple. I'm not sure if I chose it because it evokes creativity or because it's just my favorite color. :-) I need to create a better header. Just haven't taken the time to learn how to do it. I enjoyed looking at all the pretty things!

  6. Hmmmm.....welll......my color scheme is very bright and busy! I'm afeared to look and see what that might say about me! Although I think Angie did an amazing job on my blog, and I love it!

Have you painted many furniture pieces? I like your entryway....your Longaberger purse looks *perfect* there.

Thanks for linking-up to My Happy List. You've been such a loyal supporter, and I truly appreciate it.

I need to run errands this afternoon, and it's raining per usual. My youngest daughter thinks it rains here more than in Forks, WA!
