I finally took a painting class in my favorite new small town that I have been writing about lately: Franklin, Indiana. Vintage Whimsy hosted the class and we used Maison Blanche paint. My color was wrought iron. I took an old Ethan Allen framed print that doesn't work for me anymore apart. I wish I had the before photo so I could show you the transformation. I had been wanting to do this since June.
I've been in sweatshirt mode. Go Colts! |
I was amazed at how simple it was and how easy it was to clean up afterward. I have refrained from painting other than spray painting because I thought it was too messy - but not anymore! I think I can do this. I have many pieces in the basement I am eager to paint now!
I love shopping with Ashleigh because I see things with her I wouldn't see otherwise, such as this chandelier decal. I am wondering what I could do with it?
Our neighborhood clubhouse offers special meals throughout the week. Dan and I recently enjoyed dining there on Taco Tuesday. The pinata added a nice touch.
I've been having a ball lately browsing in antique shops. Dan and I used to do do this together pre- children, then we got busy raising our kids. I found a fabulous antique mall about an hour away and have had a wonderful time seeing things I used to have or we had in our home while growing up. I was delighted when I saw this little furniture locked inside a curio cabinet:
I played with these same pieces when I was a child. There was also a piano and many more things; I cannot remember all of them. I searched the Internet to see if I could find them and learned that they were called Petite Princess Fantasy Furniture. I had to laugh because I was nicknamed Princess Patty when I was little, so my Mother must have thought this furniture was made for me! I found the following pictures of pieces I remember having: the piano, grandfather clock and screen, phone, china cabinet and art for the wall. I know I had tons more but I can't remember what other pieces I had. I will ask my Mom about it when I see her on Thanksgiving Day.

Here are some other things I saw in the antique mall that made me happy.
I saw Muffy Vanderbear and friends. I think of how much money I spent on these things and now they are pretty cheap.
Decorating the house for Christmas has been making me happy. In my next post I'll show you how I incorporated all of my 2013 projects I've blogged about this year into my decor!
Happy Thanksgiving!
