I've been creating like mad while being cooped up from the snow. The good thing about it is that I am getting projects done that have been high on my list. For example, I had been pondering what to do with this vintage Samsonite train case that was purchased last fall. While attending the Sweethearts on the Homefront art retreat in October, I learned that some of the attendees brought decorated pieces like this in which they carried their tools and embellishments. I had to have one too, of course! I like the simplicity of this one. But how was I going to alter it?

I had so much fun making a Valentine's Day spoolie for a swap that I just had to make one for St. Patrick's Day too. This is one lucky lady surrounded by an abundance of four leaf clovers.

I've mentioned before on my blog how much I love the color green. In fact, when I joined in on a color swap last year, my partner sent me a green polka dot box filled with green things. So when I saw the new Spring Green Ball Heritage Collection jars, I was filled with excitement (no pun intended!)! Ball sent me a 6 pack quart size of them for a review which I was happy to do. They are available in pint and quart sizes. I was surprised how large they were when they arrived because I was expecting them to be smaller, like the blue anniversary pint size ones from last year. But that was fine with me because that means there will be more room to store my treasures. Did I mention how beautifully green they are?!

I got a sample container of Maison Blanche Vanille to see if it was a color that I liked. I was inspired to paint this little wooden drawer. It belonged to a bookshelf Ashleigh took with her. She didn't want it so I figured it could hold things in my creative space. Actually, I have two of them.

I visited my friend Becky who lives in Alabama for a creative girls week. Boy did we have fun and get a lot accomplished! While I was there, the south got hit with a once in a decade winter storm. The storm shut down the entire region, but Becky and I created on!
My plane arrived on Monday late in the afternoon. On our way to Becky's home we stopped at an antique shop. I found this large ledger book. It's 11 x 14 inches and had never been written in, although the front and back covers were kind of messed up. I figured I would alter them in time.
