While I was in Charlotte, North Carolina, my friend Anita took me to her Father's home for a visit. I was very impressed with how he refurbishes vintage cars. He does an impeccable job and his red 1937 Packard is gorgeous.

He also refinished a '63 Thunderbird in red. He is working on a '66 Mustang now and I wonder if it will be red as well?
Now back at Anita's home in Charlotte, her decor centers on the Renaissance Period. Note the knight in shining armor in the great room with painted faux castle walls...

and an abundance of lovely crowns throughout the home.
Anita made cupcakes for her daughter's baby shower. I love how she swirled on the icing. She added a stick of butter and confectioners sugar to a can of ready made icing. Then she used her professional icing tools to make the swirls.
She let me put the rocking horses on top.
The cupcakes she made were not only the edible kind; she also made some that will be useful for her granddaughter.
Baby socks rolled into onesies.
Owls are the major theme for the baby's room. Anita rolled diapers to make this adorable owl diaper cake. The instructions came from this you tube video. It was a big hit at the baby shower.
She also made this beer cake for the baby's Daddy. I got to tie the ribbons and add the shredded paper.
The baby shower was great fun!
I wish much love and happiness to Anita's growing family during this exciting time.
I had a great time while in Charlotte!
I was trying to jump in the paint chips hallway in the Bank of America Corporate Center, in uptown Charlotte. |

Patty,
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the Renaissance era, and I really like your friend's knight in shining armor. I also have a thing for crowns. What a sweet owl this is. Owls remind me of my daughter, who will get her Ph.D. this year.
Oh my, those cupcakes look delicious. Have a nice rest of the week.
