Ashleigh has had some exciting changes in her life lately. She got a new job and apartment. With the move into her new apartment, Ashleigh and I have given life to old furniture with a fresh coat of paint.
We used Maison Blanche (MB) paint followed by MB Light Brown Antique Wax for most of the pieces, unless otherwise stated. First up is this Ethan Allen (EA) coffee table that was in our former living room. We used the color La Bonne Terre. You can see how it turned out in the above photo.

This was an EA cabinet we used for our TV years ago.
It was painted with MB Vanille. Ash purchased new knobs.
Here you can see the TV cabinet in use along with other pieces we painted.
Here is another cabinet and bookshelf we painted that were once part of a group that belonged with the TV cabinet.
Ash found a table through a Facebook group to paint for the kitchen. We used MB Vanille on it too, and finished it off with varnish so that she could wipe it with a damp cloth.
She recently invited me over for a delightful (and healthy) lunch and we enjoyed using her newly painted table and chairs.
We found lamps and the dining room chairs at a Goodwill (GW) store.
Lamps and candle sticks were painted with MB Creole Orange and the chairs with Mardi Gras. An EA bedside table was painted with Mardi Gras as well.
She used the Mardi Gras color and leftover fabric from our home for the upholstery on these chairs.
Dan installed shelves for her in a large central closet.
Just this past weekend, Ash asked me to help her organize the second bedroom which was meant to be her art studio. Oh my! Her statue at the bottom of the pic has the right expression here!
But in seven hours we got 'er done!

Yes, we painted and waxed this GW lamp base too! |

Ash sent me this panoramic view of her studio after she had hung art in the room. |
It's such a comfort to know that Ash has a great job, wonderful friends and a pleasant place in which to live. We made great memories while putting her apartment together.

How nice that all that old furniture is given a new life and you were able to help furnish her apartment. Everything looks wonderful - the lamps are amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun! Her apartment is looking great. :)
ReplyDeleteOur son graduated from college in December. He's currently still living in his college dump...dive...apartment. You know, guys just don't care about fixing a place up. I can't wait till he moves and we can do it right. :)
I love the new look to the old furniture. How fun it must have been, yes a lot of work, but fun to see the new life and beauty as well. I wish her well with her new job as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Patty! I love the "white" transformation. It made everything looked so classic. Hope you are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou and Ashleigh did a great job!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful when our kids are settled and happy!
Nothing like good ol' family (a very creative mom to boot) to help her out! Love that everything seems to match with the new paint job on most her pieces. The dining table turned out nicely but I must admit, I love the art studio the most!
ReplyDeleteYou two are amazing! Such hard work with such lovely results. Good luck to Ashleigh in her new job. Is it in the art field?
